This Privacy Policy explains how CHEDR LLC ("CHEDR," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the CHEDR application and website at about.chedr.me.
Information we collect
- Mobile phone number — when you enter your own number to receive a verification code.
- Account information — a display name and the public cryptographic key your device generates to sign in.
- Usage information — basic technical logs needed to operate and secure the service (for example, delivery status of a verification message).
How we use information
- To send you one-time verification codes for sign-up and login.
- To secure accounts, prevent abuse, and operate the service.
We use your mobile number only to deliver the verification codes described in our SMS Terms. We do not send marketing or promotional texts, and we do not text invitations on a member's behalf — members share invite links themselves.
Mobile information and text messaging
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors who provide supporting services to us (such as our SMS delivery provider) is permitted solely to carry out the services you request. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties under any circumstances.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:
- with service providers who process it on our behalf (for example, the carrier and messaging provider that deliver your texts), under contract and only as needed to provide the service; and
- when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of CHEDR and its users.
Data retention
We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. Verification codes are short-lived and expire shortly after they are issued.
Your choices
- Reply STOP to any text to opt out of further messages.
- Contact us to access or delete your account information.
Children
CHEDR is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
